Yes my pilot jet is stock size. Mixture screw is
4 1/4 turns out. No backfire this way. Believe
it or not. Yesterday I changed to 165 main jet.
It made no difference except for the sound and I
liked the sound of the 160 main jet better so I'm
going to put it back. It does warm up a little
faster with the 165 main jet though. I could
probably go to a bigger pilot jet and turn the
mixture screw back in a couple turns. But 4 1/4
turns out makes the low rpm mixture rich enough. I
believe the motor likes to be a little rich at
idle and low rpm in order to stop the backfire.
